Strategic Supply Group, Let's Get to Work

Services

The work, and how it is structured

I do not sell hours of advice. I take a defined piece of your procurement, run it, and report on it. Below is what that covers and the four ways to buy it.

Scope

What I take off your plate

Sourcing and supplier development

Finding and qualifying the right suppliers

  • Category review and sourcing strategy
  • Supplier search, screening, and qualification
  • RFQ packages with weighted evaluation criteria
  • Sample, first article, and quality documentation coordination
  • Domestic and international supplier onboarding
Cost reduction and negotiation

Getting the number down and keeping it there

  • Quote and cost breakdown analysis
  • Direct negotiation with suppliers and factories
  • Freight, packaging, MOQ, and payment term improvements
  • Renegotiation of existing agreements
  • Savings tracking against a documented baseline
Purchasing operations

Running the day to day buy

  • Purchase order creation, confirmation, and follow up
  • Min and max planning and reorder point setup
  • Expediting and backorder recovery
  • ERP purchasing data cleanup and setup
  • Purchasing SOPs your team can follow after I leave
Supplier performance

Holding suppliers to their commitments

  • Supplier scorecards and KPI frameworks
  • On time delivery and quality tracking
  • Corrective action requests and follow through
  • Quarterly business reviews
  • Supplier handbooks and codes of conduct
Supply risk and continuity

Finding the failure before it finds you

  • Single source and concentration exposure review
  • Dual sourcing and qualified backup suppliers
  • Lead time and safety stock strategy
  • Country and logistics risk review
  • Tariff and classification support when a project calls for it
Reporting

A monthly pack, on the same day every month

  • A standard menu of 21 reports
  • You select the reports that fit your business
  • Spend, savings, supplier performance, and open order visibility
  • A one page owner summary on top of the detail
  • A sample pack is available before you sign anything

Engagement structures

Four tiers, all quoted as fixed fees

No hourly meter, no surprise invoices. The fee is agreed in writing before work starts, and the scope that goes with it is written down in the same document.

Tier 0

Pilot

A paid 30 day test on one category. Built for the company that likes the idea but does not want to sign a retainer with someone they have not worked with. You get finished output, not a discovery phase.

30 days
Fixed fee
One category
No renewal obligation
Tier 1

Project

A defined body of work with a start, a finish, and a deliverable. Resourcing a product line, running a competitive RFQ, consolidating a fragmented supplier base, or rebuilding a purchasing process.

Four to eight weeks
Fixed scope
Fixed fee
Deliverables defined up front
Tier 2

Procurement Partner

Ongoing procurement capability on a monthly retainer. I carry the sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management load while your team keeps transactional purchasing in house.

Monthly retainer
Three month minimum
30 days notice
Monthly reporting pack included
Tier 3

Embedded Procurement Manager

The full function. I act as your procurement manager, own the supplier base and the spend, and report to you the way an employee would, without the salary, benefits, and payroll tax load.

Monthly retainer
Six month minimum
60 days notice
Defined weekly availability

Fees are quoted after a short discovery call, once the category, the spend, and the workload are clear. Every quote is fixed for the term of the engagement.

How it starts

From first call to first result

  • A 20 minute call. What you buy, what it costs you, and where it goes wrong.
  • A written scope and a fixed fee, usually within two business days.
  • Access to the data I need. Spend history, supplier list, open orders.
  • Work starts. You get a status note weekly, not a black box.
  • A written result at the end of the term, and a decision point on what comes next.

Industries I work in

Manufacturing, industrial distribution, metals and hardware, electrical and electronic components, packaging, construction materials, textiles and apparel, outdoor and consumer products, MRO, and specialized equipment.

Categories run from raw materials and components through finished goods, in 21 countries across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Next step

Get a scope and a fixed fee.

Tell me the category and the annual spend behind it. I will tell you whether it is worth working on and what it would cost.
